Heheheh . . . yeah, see if you're saying that after Superglue Operating Theater. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Pity about that fellow who tried to steal your stuff. I strongly suspected that was his motivation, but (like you and Jerry) gave him the "benefit of the doubt" until he proved otherwise. Those who can, do. Those who can't, copy. Great to see lots of stuff moving thru the Barnes pipeline! -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Here's that video with the wooden blocks: and Man, that rifle looks as new . . . very nice Gary. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That's a Comcast ad . . . I know it well. Just another thing to hate about a horrible company that I despise . . . worst customer "service" ever. If it's done right, at a high level of quality, it takes time. Good customers understand this. You're better off without the ones who don't. And that's true for any business. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
We were not spared . . . everything *inside* the vault started shaking, as well as the vault itself. That's how I knew it was a quake rather than a truck driving by (which would never cause any shaking anyway), or a big piece of machinery doing something in the warehouse. No damage, though . . . just some decent motion in a solid concrete structure, where the *only* thing that would've caused iby admin - I'm just sayin'
Hourly updates??? That's an obsessive / compulsive, or a control freak. Sometimes it's better not to have a customer like that -- another business lesson for Timmy. -- Jimby admin - Gary's Gun Room
Come on Gary, you know me . . . I'd never try to beat the system. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Noted Tom, and yeah, I'm thinking about output air quality too. All I can tell you is that I haven't read of a single incident where anyone's gun was damaged because of air compressed by a Shoebox. The manufacturer, Tom Kaye, is actively selling these products for filling expensive paintball markers and airguns, and he's got decades of experience in R&D with this type of technology. He inventeby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nah, I'll just run it a few hours here, and a few hours there, and let it rest. No reason to keep it running all night. Just gotta plan ahead, and don't forget to fill your tanks back up when you get back from shooting. Well, let's see: $620 for the Shoebox including rebuild kit and shipping, under $15 for the extra airline and desiccant water trap from Harbor Freight, and $3.68 for the lithby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Update: up to just under 3,900psi in an hour . . . call it 275psi / hour for an 88cf 4500psi tank so far. Stopped to grease the pistons, then fired it up again. 150psi 2.6 cf pancake compressor is kicking on every 20 minutes or so for maybe 45 seconds. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I fired up my Shoebox for the first time a little while ago. I essentially duplicated Ced's setup with coiled yellow airline and the inline desiccant water trap from Harbor Freight at the low-pressure input side of the Shoebox. On the output side, I have an Airhog 88cf 4500psi carbon fiber tank that started at 3600psi. It's running right now . . . I'll be interested to see how long it takes toby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Update: my Shoebox arrived today, along with the optional "rebuild kit" (plastic bag full of o-rings and other stuff). I've got to buy the necessary inline water trap and lithium grease, but other than that, I'm ready to go! I'm mildly impressed with the build quality so far -- seems substantial with a bit of heft. This is no cheapo, thrown-together unit. The proof, of course, will be in itsby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Sweet . . . yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I have a nice little Porter Cable pancake compressor I've been using to drive my framing / finishing nailers and other stuff around the house that's gonna get enlisted. It's been a great little compressor so far so we'll give it a shot. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I got an email yesterday that my Shoebox is "ready to pay for" and should ship very soon after that. So now I'm looking at all the other hoses, connectors etc. that'll be needed to keep my two 4500 psi 88cf Airhog tanks filled. Great timing too, now that I have the Alpine back. I'm post some pix as I get my rig put together and cranking up . . . -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I can only imagine what it was like when you showed up with "Thee Alpine" at said event and proceeded to clean house. I'd guess most were like, "who is this guy?!??" -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I was actually going to suggest a blue background for pix . . . looks great. Can't wait to get my hands on that puppy. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yeah man . . . we're not playing around. Can't wait to muzzle load multiple roundball simultaneously into that puppy and unleash it on some unsuspecting steel target . . . -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Sweet man . . . that's awesome. It'll be great to have it back! -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Faux carbon fiber = AWESOME. Always loved that look on your bench guns. Great to see stuff being moved along through the "queue" . . . And look, we even have a "Gary in the bluing shop" smilie: -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
No doubt . . . what happened? BTW, *that* is my favorite airgun. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary: For some reason this pic reminds me of the little yodeler in one of the games on "The Price Is Right" who would climb up the steep incline on a motorized track, only to plunge inevitably off the precipice . . . -- Jimby admin - I'm just sayin'
I was using scuba to 3000psi . . . getting fills at a local dive shop. But they'd make me pay $50 every year to hydro my tank, even though it's never been in the water. I'd fill my 4500psi tanks at Gary's on occasion. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Dude, that'll rot your head. TV sucks. Read something, or even surf the internet . . . anything but 8 hours of TV. I recommend E. Porter Alexander's "Fighting for the Confederacy" . . . best single book on the Civil War I've ever read. It's a memoir, but he originally wrote it for his kids, so it's very informal and quite enlightening. If you're interested, you can borrow my copy . . .by admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Ha! When I see this gun, I remember pulling its trigger and seeing the scope picture disappear . . . quite an experience. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
It comes down to convenience. Small bore means I can grab what I need in ten minutes and shoot silently right in the front yard. I don't need to tell you what's involved with setting up to shoot big bore. I don't know anyone except for Kent who can just stick a .58 muzzle out the front door and push play. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary: Cool . . . embedded mercury tubes in the buttstock Rigby-style, eh? The pain thing sucks, man. You were doing better, for longer than I can ever remember before. Must've over-done it. P.S. I'll keep an eye on the forum re: performance etc. . . . seems fine so far. Deleted another Chinese "user" this AM. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I got sick of reading about everyone else and added my name to the list this AM. Finally . . . no more mooching air fills! I see they've raised the price to $549 . . . figured I'd better get one before it goes up again. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
1. Most useful: I'd have to say that's my .22 Marauder. It's basically silent, shoots off-the-rack pellets very well, very accurate for its price point, can run on as little as 2000psi, and is powerful enough to shoot groups @ 50 yards here at the house and throw small reactive targets around a little. 2. Nope; like others, when I was a kid, I had the ubiquitous Crosman 760 pump, through wby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Interesting. Another beast? -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Like I said . . . it's the network. Nothing on your end changed, so it had to be something they changed. They'll send out a crew to placate you, and claim it's your modem and / or your wiring, but it won't work right until they fix whatever they changed on their network. We've been thru many iterations of this with Comcast as they have "upgraded" their network over the years. -- Jimby admin - I'm just sayin'
