I'm with ya Neil . . . my Corvette got hit in the exact same spot back in September by a lady on her cell phone (though not quite as badly). You have my sympathies. -- Jimby admin - I'm just sayin'
Hoppy Easter! We had breakfast with my folks earlier today, and then just now managed to squeeze in a few holes at the golf course before getting rained out. But it was pretty while it lasted. Back at the ranch for the evening. Glad to hear the meds have stayed effective. Seems that's been quite awhile searching for the right combo. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hi Gary: All the questions you asked (and more) have been answered by folks who own and use the Shoebox, at other places around the net. How long to fill 44/88cuft tanks (from empty, 88cuft seems to take about two days), cooling, etc. If it was just the company reporting it did what they claim it does, then no one (including me) would care . . . but they've had hundreds of real units in theby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary: Well, I for one *am* skeptical, which I why I don't have a Shoebox quite yet. But I am encouraged by the feedback I've read from those who have actually taken the plunge and own one. It's really a matter of where you want your dollars to go. You're a cheap scope guy. I'm a cheap compressor guy. Nothing wrong with that. However, I do honestly believe there are some folks outby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Cedric: where did you buy your hose / gauge setup? How much was it? -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I wouldn't sweat it Gary. No one thinks you're gunning for them . . . just skeptical, which is a good thing (I am too, as are others). My point was that not everyone can afford a $3k+ traditional HPA compressor, or can justify the expense of such a unit when they're not going to be using it as much as, say, someone who builds airguns for a living, or even who shoots more than me (i.e., more dayby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary: keep in mind that they're around 1/7 the price of a traditional HPA compressor. It's true to a certain extent you get what you pay for, but I know there's a ton of margin built into those traditional compressors, too. If the Shoebox is durable enough to fill a few tanks every once in awhile with a little maintenance, that'd be good enough for me! Very cool . . . I see a couple old favorites in there. Man, I need to go shoot! -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Wow . . . you polished that action so well it's almost see-through! Looks nice . . . will be neat to see it all back together with the outrigger etc. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Wow . . . I don't think I have *ever* seen you shoot an airgun that was built by someone else. I remember one time Jerry brought his Monsoon to the range and you recoiled like it was the devil in rifle form. Revenue. Our wonderful governor finally figured out he's not going to be able to balance the budget any more with stimulus, so he's doing it on the backs of us taxpayers by enforcing every minuscule fine on the books. Ironically, it is far easier now than it has ever been throughout the course of human history to obtain all of this "free knowledge," yet humans are lazier and more distracted than they have ever been. Neil: Is that photo taken from the mountaintop with the tram that goes up the side of it with a little cafe with observation decks etc. on top? We visited there but it was too rainy / foggy to see the city that day. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
My Scout was originally a muzzle loader . . . Gary converted it to a breech-loader using his "then-new" slide breech. It shoots about 150 fpe with .454" roundball. Maybe 170-180fpe with slugs. It was a favorite at Kent's Wood's Walk in Mississippi due to its light weight, ease of cocking (compared to some of the monster big bores), and accuracy. Great little rifle. -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Neil: Very glad you and your family OK. My wife and I have some great memories from our honeymoon in NZ back in 2004 including Christchurch. We remembered the cathedral and the town square (with its life-sized outdoors chess set) well and were so sad to see the church ruined by the quake. Hang in there . . . -- Jimby admin - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
