Hello Gary, Sorry for the late response. Leave it to the Queen to steal your ideas. Must have spies in your area or a x-ray satellite that can see through your shop and determine what you are working on? I under about striking a die after you have completed it. I get the same way if I am so close to completing an item and want to test it before final assembly or what have you. Looking foby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Very cool Gary. Looking forward to seeing the oak leaf motif you created if you pursue that avenue. Keep us posted. Peterby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
The case turned out so well. The polish is fantastic! Kurt, I am sure you will love it. Nice timely post Gary, ready for Memorial weekend! Peterby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Likely the smaller anvil ever? Very nice seeing the case come together.! Peterby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice story. I will have to try to find it. I purchased a DVD set on building a flint lock rifle, but it doesn't go into detail about handmaking parts, more buying a kit and fitting it to the wood. Still nice to watch, even after 6 hours of it Totally handmade is starting to be a thing of the past. Kind of like the sign, "We make antiques while you wait." I read up on some of the early rby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
WOW Gary! Wish I could have been there longer to see it come together. The German, Nickel silver really takes on a polish! Turned out well and you made it work out despite some metal shortage. It was a prototype and the next should turn out easier as now you have all the tools required. Looking forward to seeing more work as best you can. Best regards, Peterby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Gary, Looks like the case is making progress. I wish I could have stayed for a longer duration to witness more of your work. The cases are much work from what I gathered, especially since this is a prototype. You have to make additional tooling in order to be able to produce each part. Will be neat to see how the hinges turn out. All from a single sheet of nickel silver. Drawing out tby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
It was a real treat and privilege to be able to shoot one of your rifles! Literally a blast ! Thank you for making the time, I know it wasn’t easy on you doing all the preparations in order for me to shoot a few rounds. The action, 2 stage trigger, and shear power of the Outrider 50 CAL was something. Watching you make the pill case and understanding the process was enjoyable. Hello Gary, Glad you can Cary on without me. Nice you could get that knife sheath completed. I saw that knife, another fine example of the work you are capable of. I did take notice of your aches and pains. I wouldn’t have guessed it was this bad if I hadn’t visited and seen for myself. I pray the doctors are able to help and at least provide some relief. Kind regards, Pedro (Peter)by pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Glad you can get back to a ledger build. I hope your health allows for it and you can work steadily to complete! Love seeing the pictures and makes me wish I could spend more time as well in the garage/shop. My time will come. Please share what you can as you progress. Hopefully one day soon I can visit and dig in the pits myself! Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Sweet looking knife Gary. I am sure most will agree, the first pic reminds of "Indiana Jones". Maybe your picture can be titled, "Florida Old Bones"??? I hope someone snaps up the blade quickly. Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Gary, WOW, no wonder you been feeling lousy. I do not know many of the particulars of diabetes but I know it can be or become bad. I hope you can find the right blood sugar level that works for you and that you can maintain it. We will pray on this end for you. Just another blow added to your existing health issues. Hi Gary, Fantastic looking knife! The engraving along with the inlay makes for an eye appealing piece! The scroll work on the blade continues the them of the knife. Great work! Best regards, Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Great looking knife Gary. Sorry to hear that you are still dealing with pain. I hope that the docs can figure it out so that you can actually work! Least you can do a few things but it still hurts the motivation to move forward. Thinking of you! Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello All, Thought I would provide an update for my wife's condition. Cannot believe its been 3 months, going on 4. A lot of up and downs. She was on a steroid since June, and was to be tapered off but doctors missed it. Side affects are retaining water, her ankles and legs were swollen, her mobility suffered. Doctors finally are tapering it off and her walking has improved. Had many testsby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary, Sorry to hear that things aren't improving for you. Been meaning to send a text and ask, but my mind isn't focused. Your work takes a lot of focus so I home the headaches pass. Drilling and tapping the wrong parts I am sure are very frustrating. I don't think the knife would look all that good held together with a 1/2 bolt though, Hope you get some relief. Nice to see you are still able to make things! Looking good. Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Good post. It is amazing how the old motors will last and last. Everything new is expensive and not built to last like those motors. I bought a used 4" band saw a few years back. Motor was done, limping along. A new motor is $300+ for that saw, and a brand new saw is $500. Go figure, they want you to buy another saw rather than replace parts, the same route so many things are going.by pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary, Good to hear you are getting some knives completed. Hope the injections are helping with your mobility? Great your family can visit! This while Covid thing has turned many families up-side-down. Some family has visited us as well, but it is difficult as Maria can only handle about 20-30 minutes of a visit due to radiation fatique. Family has to drive 1.5 hours one way so it makes iby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thank you all for the prayers and support. We are very aware we are not the only ones who are going through hard times. Wife started radiation treatments last week Monday, a total of 10. 3 More to go as of today. Radiation is administered to the entire head as the cancer has formed numerous (4) tumors. One as large as 35mm in the cerebral area. Doctors may do surgery pending on how the cancerby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hello All, So last few weeks my wife has been feeling off. Shooting pains into her head that only last a few seconds. Her balance feeling off among other things. We scheduled a doctor visit (over phone consultation due to covid) but things were increasingly more painful. My wife had gone through ovarian cancer last year, 18 weeks of chemo once a 1 week and we thought all was good. Last weekby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary, First chrony was 776 FPS with 101 grain bishop. Of course the valve dumped so will get past that (yet). Stay safe and well. Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

HI Kurt, Thanks for the comments. I can still work but its down to 3 days a week and the balance is a program called "work share". I was able to test the .308 the other weekend but he valve dumps all the air so needs refinement. I cannot test a lot as I live in town. Technically illegal to discharge a rifle, pellet gun, even paintball gun according to our bylaw. Thankfully a church friby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That jig turned out really well! Grinds look good. Everything takes time. In order to be productive one needs to crest tooling, jigs and fixtures. Spoke with a guy today who will be making some carts for the company I work for. He said he made a large welding table with 3/8 plate so he can create a jig to easily place all the parts for welding. Makes sense. Best wishes, Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Wow that’s is really impressive. You have shown the cold roll shaving before. Nicely shows just how well your edges hold up to this abuse. Of course most of us would never use a knife like that to carve cold roll, unless maybe your a contestant on “forged in fire”. Nicely done! Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Last couple of weeks I have been itching to get back into airguns. Last year was a write off due to my wife dealing with cancer. Went back to look at some pictures of this project and cannot believe I started back in February 2016. Crazy how time keeps ticking away. Recently I was able to use a coworkers lathe to add an extension to the tubing. The barrel came in longer than anticipated so I wby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Looks like you are keeping busy! Hope those knives do well for you. It can be surprising just how much tooling is required to make repeated builds but saves time once the tooling is made Wish you good health so you can muster on... Pedroby pedrog - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
