That's a great looking gun Gary! I see some new engineering on the tower and scope rails, in addition to the lever cocking. Not just window dressing changes! Way to go, Kentby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
And I'll have you know those small bore targets are all freehand. I cheated on the bigbore stuff with stensils, your bobcats and my bears, fowl, cobra and mountain lion (not shown). Peter, with Gary's guns it's almost as much to miss these targets, almost. We'll let you know how much fun with some pics soon. Jerry, Kelli called to say boxes have arrived safely. Thanks for all the good worby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Here are some steel targets that I have refreshed with a little steel brush work and some spray paints. The first two pics are of some heavy wgt knockdowns for the big stuff, 45 cal and larger. These take all the abuse and come back for more. This pic is of a swinging target we like to call Godzilla. It was the first in a series of woods walk targets set up along a trail in the woby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
WW Once again letting you run wild has resulted in something no one would have believed would work. It so cool when a craftsman who doesn't know what a gun is supposed to look like blends techniques and skills to open a new window to the Barnes landscape. Ok, Ok, I know..., I was the only one who didn't see dragons, belly scales, scaled metal and multi-hued stock accents coming next! Keepby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
Love the post Jerry! It shows you took a lot of time to get and edit the videos. I've got to get me one of those high speed cameras. It's amazing how much you miss when the knockdowns go flying. Kentby Cajun Justice - Video Library
Great tie in with the Dragon Skin! I like the scales and armored stock, and here I thought you only did oak leaves. Gary, It's great that you acknowledged all the care and devotion that Jerry's kids all reflect. Jerry, you are providing the highest and what at times seems the rarest asset to society, educated, well mannered respectful children, thanks! Kentby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
Great points guys! The federal government has no business in healthcare. The ONLY reason it is involved in it now is because they interjected tax payer monies via Medicare and Medicaid. Now the camel's nose is in the tent and they are determined to take over the rest. Every state that takes a federal dollar must now bend to the congress's wish or they will withhold monies. The did it with .08by Cajun Justice - I'm just sayin'
This is an audio file from the real American Medical Association before it was high jacked by the liberal elite. I have dropped my AMA membership and implore you to contact your legislators to stop this power grab by the government which will devistate the worlds best health care system, bankrupt the country and corrupt the healthcare system to the detriment of all patients. Don't believe mby Cajun Justice - I'm just sayin'
Before the American Medical Association was high jacked by the liberals they had made this recording with Ronald Reagan when he was just a private citizen. Yes, I have dropped my AMA membership as they have now endorsed the Obama "health plan" before anyone even knows what it is! Take a listen then tell me Reagan isn't speaking to us from the grave about the newest government health care debby Cajun Justice - I'm just sayin'
Nice shooting guys! Now I under stand you could get your hands on 700 ft/lbs airguns, belching hundreds of grains of lead with each pull of the trigger, but where did you ever find a cigarette? Weren't you worried about second hand smoke? Great to see you smoking another ballistic gopher. I need to get the bear out of hibernation for some shooting. Can't wait to see the vids Kentby Cajun Justice - Video Library
Gee, I never like the look of glorified plywood...until I saw what Gary was able to do by sculpting the stock with organic lines, cutting on a bias and other little tricks which I'm too ignorant to describe. That's a GREAT looking gun you've got there. Enjoy it for all of us! Gary's right about adjusting the magnification of the scope. I use this especially with the mildots or "ballistiby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Neil, That's a really good group! When you're pushing a big bore slug the recoil is real or is that R.E.A.L. The hold sensitivity of the airguns makes a consistent grip, rest shoulder pressure etc critical. When you combine that with the recoil, getting back to the same position is tough. Gary has more than his share of amazing targets posted for some of the same reasons that he can do theby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Here's some of my favorites rearranged just for fun. Now if only they would cooperate. Lon you wouldn't like these, too much resetting here. These are shot with the Carnivore 58 and a 450 gn slug. The piece you see flying off the target weighs 180 grns the rest are little petals of lead. I have another video but alas it is too large for the photobucket, I've got to learn to shoot fasterby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Sounds like your docs have the right plan and are communicating the info in good detail. It is good that you understand that you are in the pain management stage and the big "cure" is not the right route. You will have ups and downs but your doc seems to be doing the right things. All the best, Kentby Cajun Justice - I'm just sayin'
So, 24 hrs and we'll see the action back in the stock? I know you have a backdrop already picked out for the photo shoot!! Can't wait to see it all together. Thanks for not being a stickler about not letting us see your work until its finished. You just love to tease to much for that to happen, don't you. Kentby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
Glad to help with some of the "Best Medicine". Seriously though it's got to be satisfying to know your newest creation is going o someone who "gets it". I know from talking with you and reading some of your posts elsewhere that this is not always the case. Thanks for sharing so those who get it, can see it. Kentby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
Gary, "artistic freedom"??? No, No, No, you must have misunderstood. I'm sending you the diagrams, color swatches and a pencil rubbing of an airgun I saw in a lithograph on vacation last year. Please tell me you haven't started scratching on MY stock!!! All that flowery crap about experimentation is for that other guy, just like my medical school interview where I was going to workby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
Once again Gary I've never seen anything like it!!! It is really going to "pop" when you set that stainless action in. Of course I like the carvng, but look how the contoured butt plate ties it all together. I hope the new owner will age and blend the stock with lots of shooting and show us some pics along the way. I can tell he's a wise collector/patron as he has let the artist exercisby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
Jerry, in my defense, Gary watched me do it!!! There is also an adjustable mount which is used for airguns that allows independent height adjustment. It has a swivel action which should eliminate any torque on the tube. That may be why the lower leg on my reticle has a wave in it? I'm not too worried about any slipping from loose rings as I liberally (that word always makes me see red) dowsby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, When I need that much elevation adjustment I find a tin snip and an aluminum can gives me just the shim I need between the scope and the mount. 400 inches may take a full can wedged in there though!!! When I run out of empty cans I'll order mine. Kentby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I actually have the heating part down. Remember the shrimp boiler?, that and a dedicated cast iron pot has reclaimed some lead for me in the past. Poured it into cornbread iron wear shaped like corn on the cob. Works well to clean up any residue from the targets, ground or timbers left on the used slugs. Raining here now, not recommended weather for cooking lead outside, tends to spatter, if tby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hey Gary et al, Yes the aliens have dropped me back here at the ranch. I should he able to do some shootin and pic taking. If I get some help from the kids as photogs I'll have a post for "what I like to shoot". Haven't fired up the lead crucible for sometime now, Jerry does all my cooking lately. I do need to "clarify" all that scrap lead I've gathered from those targets I like so mucby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Tried it all Eric, Buddy at the firehouse...didn't want to wear out the welcome so, Local dive shop with 4500 capability...Katrina wiped it off the map so, H cylinder nitrogen... hard to tote on hunting trips and price doubled with the most recent fuel increases so, 4700 PSI used compressor on Ebay, Nautilus brand by Bauer, older model with a different name but just like Gary's Junior, gas pby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Great find! I looked at the pic and it reminded me of looking at a pic of my three brothers and me the last time we were all together many years ago! No, I'm not kidding. Just a feeling of familiarity. Looking at creations cut from the same cloth yet all so different. Been away to long, got to give the guys a ring. Thanks Gary! Kentby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
Great post Jim, I never get tired of the detail pics of Gary's guns. I know the colors are never done justice with a pic as compared to in person but, the details of the metal and woodwork really "pops". I like to rotate such pics as my desktop background. Query, Has anyone seen such an animal? I would think one would have shown up somewhere? Shoots buckshot eh? Something old is new again. And here I thought that was a new idea you had for the Victory and Chaparral pieces, silly me! Nice blast from the past. Kentby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Peter, glad to have you on board. Sounds like you have plenty of firepower to have lots of fun. Be sure to share a pic or two with the gang. See you around, Kentby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, I loved the video. It really shows the impact and energy transfer so well. I'm with you on the solid vs hollow point especially when it comes to larger game. If you penetrate the vital organs, you will bag the game. Explosive expansion is not going to happen at airgun velocities except when striking steel targets, not game. Besides if all you are looking for is expansion, you are starby Cajun Justice - Video Library
First, nice shooting. That's a great group, magnum springer, open sights, at 43 yards, that's a tough shot!! I switched to PCP when my RS 2 springer proved to hold sensitive for me to shoot with any consistency. Sad to say, I don't even have a long gun with open sights and with my aging eyes I'm not sure how my sight picture would add up. Nice job Jerry!!! That's a nice list that I will have to study. Some of the list indicates that you must be an engineer, or very attentive to Gary's pearls. I know you "get it" and Gary appreciates your obvious enthusiasm. Your attention to detail in the list makes this forum all the more fun for fellow get its. I need to finish up my list else where.
