Thanks Gary for the info on the knives. I'll copy it to their respective files for future reference. That phenolic is some neat stuff, must have been real inexpensive or made of whale oil for us not to be using it anymore. I'm glad your doc has a good plan. Of course it's all easy when the patient is actually in the same half of the country as the doc. It's nice he is going to work quicklyby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
See Roose H, to poorly paraphrase the Men In Black, there's that "What we KNOW today" getting in the way of other possibilities. I remember suggesting to Gary that I probably would "outgrow" the usefulness of the Chief Justice as it was a lowly smooth bore. I then was amazed at the accuracy even out to 100 yards. Nice Rat Gary! I originally bought the duct seal to make a silent pellet trap for a Falcon 22 PCP from Van at Standing Stone IV. The gun was later fitted with a suppressor and the silent trap allowed me to shoot in the garage. Now it has been twisted into some kind of art form with little woods animals. Great post Tofazfou!!!! I wondered why I was seeing the recoil in the video until I saw your sweet rig. I rarely have time to cock my hammer, let alone get a zoomed, in focus pic of the shot. I'm doubly impressed. You made a great shot. I think my next hunting trip needs to be a small game hunt in a target rich environment. Anyone know of such a place? Hey Dory, Yes, I am a Hoosier. Hometown of Fort Wayne, 8 years in Indy before coming to Mississippi. Been here long enough (12 years) that they tell me I've picked up an accent... no really ya'll. Can't wait to see the Jello fly!!! Kentby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yes, it was in Jan of 2005 when these, which I believe were prototypes to answer the requests Gary was getting for large bores which shot cheap, available, factory ammmo. In his usual out of the box way, Gary not only filled the need but went two better by making it possible to shoot extremely cheap buckshot (5#/$25) accurately. Ok, It's very thick Jello without the flavor. If you add some pineapple and banana slices it would go over great at the Senior Center.!! Seriously I'm thrilled to here you're back in the video biz. I can't wait to see the Jello get what's coming to it. Is that a 1970 with the Olds Rocket 350? Just a guess, had a 1972 but cancer from the road salt in Indiana eventually ate it. Here is Kelli's Victory 32, K-type, in pistol format and the Chaparral 25 without it's buttstock, as used to win the first Erwin Cup in Jan of 2005. The cup was a great time for everyone in attendence. The Victory was our first Barnes. It was the sister of fraternal triplets. This one features a brass shroud over stainless receiver and reservoir. Gee, I never even noticed the reply attached to each...reply. I've just been adding to the end of all the posts. Sorry if that was/is a faux pas. Hate to be banned!! Jerry, I'm with you. I NEVER post to the other sites. I've seen how much headache they've become for others and don't wish to partake of the misery. Gary, You made me all misty eyed. I love you too bud! Gary knows I fall off the planet every once in a while, as we all do with other obligations etc. Then sometimes I get on a roll and shoot the whole cabinet WITH PICS!!! This is one of the shooting weeks, hence lots of posting. A Chaparral request makes me want to shoot something, thanks Scott. I could tell ya'll were not impressed by the impact of the 32 and 58 cal slugs on Ballistic Bear, so... I thought a comparison was in order. Here are the contestants; a Smith and Wesson 357 with 38 spec wadcutter, 357 soft nose and jacketed hollow point and Chief Justice 87 cal with 920 grn slug and 2oz of 25 caliber buckshot. Gary, that's great! It's too bad the No Fur folks have messed up the equation for the small guy making a buck on the pelts. I hate to even ask if he bothers with the carcass. I also wonder if anyone has a recollection of the beaver tail being a mountain man delicacy. That's what I remember anyway. Hey guys, I'm on a roll got some more material for a new thread. I could hear the yawns from the seemingly limited power applied to the bear so....I got out my 357 magnum for comparison. Look for the new thread soon. Ya'll never heard of Brownell's three F and five F stock polish? You can also use it to deyellow your head lights or polish plexiglass Bad Boy Buggy windshields. Jim, the duct seal is very tough and dense, even the Chief Justice 87 is stopped by the stuff yet it busts concrete block and zips thru 5/4 pressure treated pine. see Utube post try pausing it a 28 sec for dramatic effect. Hey Jerry, Thanks for clearing up my mistake about the Cup o Joe. You also spurred me on to post some pics of the Carnivore 58 and Victory 32 with my newest pet, the ballistic bear. As described before the bear is made of duct seal. It is very dense and even more so now since it has soaked up a lot of lead over the past 3 years. Beautiful job Jerry, Hey just in case someone is reading that wasn't at the Cup O Joe to shoot those fine pieces, how about a caption giving caliber, energy (depends, I know), birthday and some trivia... turn ons, turn offs etc I bet others may even chime in. Whoop.... Whoop.... Whoop...That makes this the first "Standard" model I have ever seen Gary make!!! Ya, I know standard in energy only. But didn't he come up about 40% above required spec there as well. Ah well, it's just another Barnes...what did you expect? I'm sure the new owner will be thrilled. Snuck off to Big Sky Montana for a conference and a little skiing. Leaving out on Saturday am if the weather allows. Bozeman airport is closed tonight because of snow and it is dumping as I write. Skiing was great today! I'll make sure and have a gopher, and his friend the squirrel, to test some of the guns. I be sure to put "a hole in one". Kentby Cajun Justice - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary I hate it when time and effort gets wasted thru no fault of my own. I know that's the frustration you're writing of. I would be almost tolerable if it resulted in some new knowledge gained in the episode, but all you learn is you again can't seem to trust the work of others. I'm sorry about the camera Jerry, but understand it is just the first step in me buying a remanufactured one. I'm sure they will send you your new one pronto and I hope your right about the 2-3 week reman time as I can't wait much longer. Seriously though I hope it comes quickly and is better than new! Gary, That should be just what he needs and more. I hope we get some feed back on how the gun works for its intended purpose. It may have some practical application to real life hunting of medium game. I bet he shoots better than ever with such a fine gun. Kentby Cajun Justice - Gary's Galleries
Jerry is Bill Cosby not a member of this forum? Well, I guess that's why he hasn't chimed in on what to do with an industrial sized Jell-O "shot". Can't waste a pun like that! Nice shot Neil !!! 100 yd shot with a 22! Now I'll grant you that the Falcon is a tack driver, but a 100 yd shot is a good reach.. BTW, A short barrel Falcon 12 with a moderator was my first ever PCP. I bought it from Van of Airhog at Standing stone IV along with my carbon fiber tank. Great job guys!!! Nothing like putting the lead slap down on some reactive targets. It's neat to see it live but even better when you can replay the mayhem slow mo. I can attest to this being one sweet handling and beautiful gun. The sleek metal work and nice lines draws the gun right to the shoulder with the scope aligning with the shooting eye instantly. The same handling characteristics are present in the 45-08 which Gary used so effectively on his gray fox. Gary has carved a beautiful oak leaf and acorn relief into the forearm and stock. See if Jerry can load the Woodsman with a bean bag and stun the next squirrel he sneaks up on. Then tie a cord around its neck just tight enough so it can't swallow the antler. Now throw it into the woods and HOLD ON to the cord. When you feel a jerk (or like a jerk) reel him in and collect you prize. Kentby Cajun Justice - The Hunting Camp
Great job Jerry, I've been trying to bag a nice fox squirrel for the last 2 years with the C Justice muzzle loaded as a shotgun to mount with the bobcat. Yes the bobcat was taken with with the CJ and a 900+ grn slug at 40 yds. Gary, Thanks again for coming to visit. I'm so glad you have a beautiful gray fox to mount. I know a lot of hunters with bucks on the wall but less than a handful with such a nice trophy as this. It was such a great memory thanks for sharing it. I don't know where I came under the misunderstanding on the name of the Expedition 58 cal muzzle loader being a Rondezvous, my mistake.
