Hehehe Dan. One of the largest producers of wine in New Zealand is a company called Montana Wines. You been sampling their product huh?by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Rotor that is truly spectacular! And you said no wind? Gimme some of that!!by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Well, it works Jerry! Cat like grace? Could you post some pictures of that please? I'd like to learn that move...by neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Thanks for that Jerry, and yes, that was exactly the figure that I got through Chairgun. I hope to shoot the 909 this weekend so will check the accuracy of the scope tape if I get a chance. Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, I dug out these figures, for the 220.5 grain .454 match grade Raptors, through the 909 twin tube: Muzzle velocity 608 fps 50 yards 543 fps The settings in Chairgun were: Temp 20 degrees Celcius Gravity 32.2 Ft/s2 Pressure 29.9 in Hg Altitude 400 feet Interested to see what you come up with....by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Too fast for me, I'm afraid......hehehehe...nice work on that stock, and looking forward to some figures on how it's shootin', or a kill or two! Regards Neilby neilmcp - The Picture Gallery
Great hunt story, Gary! I was going to ask, "what was that gun you were hiding behind the fox" when you first posted that picture, but now I see. What velocity are you sending those Bishops at the unfortunate prey? Regards Neilby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Jerry, nice work with those BC figures. I will see if I can dig out the Raptor velocities for you to run. It might be that with your figures and Chairgun I can come up with accurate scope tapes for the big bores. As to Chairgun and small bores, I think it is fair to say that Chairgun does a good job out to 150 yards with the Falcon. The picture below shows that the first shot tried at this distby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

OK, here it is. I took delivery a couple of weeks ago and am in the process of scoping it and doing a few tests. It is running at just over 300 fpe at present with 455 grain slugs, with 5 good shots. You may recognise it from the Yellow Forum...C0222 posted there about it recently. He is a New Zealander living in Auckland (at the other end of the country to me) and I asked him to buildby neilmcp - The Gear Shack
Hi Jerry I must admit that I didn't get as technical as measuring humidity etc, so you can take it that my measurement is an approximation....though with average temperature/altitude etc figures in place I have had very good results using the Chairgun BC figures for my Falcon; granted that the program does allow for the weight of the small bore pellets but not for big bore. A good way of determby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice work Jerry. Have you had any other feedback on the Raptor BC, to compare with my Chairgun-derived figure of .055? And got any pics of those various slugs you tested? Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
OK. I'll work out some pricing You have the 25 magnum shooting very nicely by the look of it...someone is going to be a very happy camper! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Gary Gary (said in a condescending manner), you have missed a very important step in your testing procedures, which is this.....no one knows how your guns perform in the Southern Hemisphere...so, you need a special agent (me, for example) to carry out exhaustive tests, taking into account the coriolis factor (something to do with how the water goes down the plug hole in a different directioby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Cheers Jerry! I'm now itching to shoot my big bores some more too, and over the next few months I hope to be able to tether to a tank while shooting, saving on the hand-pumping Regards Neilby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
Yep, that's nice alright, almost too nice to shoot! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Gary's Galleries
Thanks Gary You are right, I can think of a few good groups I have shot with 2 in the same hole. Put it down to..umm...Murphy's Law? Regards Neilby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
Thanks Dory I've been a bit quiet shooting-wise over the Christmas break and haven't really touched my big bores due to having too much else to do, but it was easy to pull out the Falcon first thing yesterday morning, as I can shoot it without waking the family! Back to work tomorrow (Monday our time) Cheers Neilby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
This morning was unremarkable, windy as usual, but the odd calm spell encouraged me to set up my 100 yard target and have a crack with the .22 Falcon. I decided to use my new one-piece shooting bench which is now being widely manufactured under licence Anyway, I shot a horrible 1.368" group in the shifty wind, then another couple of random shots before the wind died. Then I shot in earnest andby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
Love these videos Jerry! Need to see more!by neilmcp - Video Library
Nice shooting, especially that 200 yarder! Looks like quite a trajectory on that slug... Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Video Library
Cheers everyone You are all welcome here but you must all bring your favorite Barnes gun as admission fee I will take very good care of them foreverby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Happy New Year guys! Well it's been very hot and very windy since Christmas, but this morning the wind had died down a bit and I wandered out onto the back deck at around 7.00 am, trying to decide whether to go for a hunt or shoot some targets. I saw a rabbit up the valley and decided to do both. I quickly set up my sophisiticated mini-bench (patent pending) loaded up the Falcon with .22 BSAby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Merry Christmas to you all, from way down under...we've just had Christmas Day, just a lttle ahead of you guys but just as special! Hoping we all get lots of shootin' in the New Year All the best Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Jerry and Jim, I get the picture now, I see I have some more technology to purchase.....I hope Airhog will export Jerry, love your dining room setup, I think you said there was no woman in the house. Yep, I can believe that Jim, I think I could adapt to that comfort you have thereby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Jerry, this is a wee bit off topic but relevant to external air supply. I have never tethered any of my big bores to a scuba bottle but intend to do so soon. Dumb question, but do you refill after each 1 or 2 shots....I assume you can't keep the air supply on constantly especially when you are using 4500 psi externally?by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
You are right Gary...I haven't succeeded latelyby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
Thanks Jerry I forgot to record that the best group was achieved about 13 months ago, on 4 November 2007. Time flies! Sorry but the bench details are patented and highly secretby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
I thought I'd share my best small bore 100 yard groups to date, neither of them particularly recent, which is a function of just how windy it has been for the last year or so.... There are 5 shots in this group, 2 into the top hole. The two slugs that entered that hole are at the bottom of the picture. I dug them out of the target and they were nicely fused together. This next group is my besby neilmcp - The Target Trophy Lodge
