Gary and Kelly, Glad you have power, Glad the eye missed you both. I admit I was worried you might be weeks without power so you dodged one there. Clean up will not be fun but at least you did not have trees lifted off buildings. Gary I hope Kelly gets some sleep ...... Glad you are back to BPS. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary and Kelly, Great news. Not everyone was that lucky. So glad all is standing. Do you have power? I know you are busy. Be safe, Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I was totally shocked the Generator did not work.... OK not that shocked. If it were me it would have burned to ground so you have that going for you. Bugging out is not a bad idea. I am so glad you are both safe. Big trees growing in sand and strong wind with lots of rain to wash the sand away...... what could go wrong??? Glad it missed you both with the eye. Gary, As you know that style knife is very common in the Philippines. They are very poorly made and I get them from $3 to $20 each in assorted sizes. But they are often made of scrap metal with simple plastic grips. Crude is being nice to most of them. They are made in shops no vice, and 100% made with hand tools. That one looks nice and really big or is it just the scale of thingsby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Had a bit of "LIFE" get in the way of my plans but I think I am about to get all my stuff in one sack and send that sack back to the U.S. with me tagging along. Tell you all about it once I get back up North. Be safe, Larry.by LarryinAsia - I'm just sayin'
Gary, Very nice I see the Snake in the texture and shape. You been really pushing it. Cannot wait to see a finished knife with those. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I can say I would not want to reverse engineer one from scratch. I agree about a can of worms and would hardly call it simple. Now I guess a few China made chips and some smart person could do all that in half the space and use way less current. It really looks WW 2 era in design. Parts are big and way over built. They did not care about how much power it used. The gun looks way oby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, They really over built the heck out of that from what I can see. I wonder if it gets warm inside after a few thousand BB's and that electromagnetic arm slamming back and forth?? Seems to be a lot of thinking and math for a trainer and I am amazed to see how well built it is. Gary is right I want to see the squirrels running in horror from your bird feeder when you let a fewby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I felt like I was cheating a bit too. ha ha but I waited a while before I posted. We been around so long we know so much.... but I seemed to have forgot most of the important stuff.. ha ha. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, Really great find. They are getting rare. Please correct me if I am wrong but specs I found showed those guns shooting about twice as fast as the carnival guns. (the ones I saw look like a Thompson machine gun. The Carnival guns seemed to just blow the bb's out in a stream. Does the one pictured use the AC power to cycle and load single BB's for the air preasure to fire? I woulby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, You found ONE! I think that is a pellet firing trainer for the Military. The ones I saw used compressed air. I would love to know more about it. Must have a great story. NICE. Way to go. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, That is a bit shocking in a good way. When it loaded it kinda popped in. Made me blink. I really like it. Looks big and heavy. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Hope you both are on the mend. I am still getting dental work done here I could never afford in the USA. That knife is a real looker. Stunning really. I feel sorry for the bi-valve. ha ha ... Kidding. I know they both will not last long. Get well both of you. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Glad the meds are kicking in. Lots of people sick here too. We have good med too. Better living through chemicals. ha ha. Get well soon.by LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I was sick for a few weeks and now I am busy getting ready for the move. I have tools and some bench gear I am packing to shipping back, selling lots of stuff here, and packing up. I do check the site almost everyday. Get well soon. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, You both are having a rough time. Has to get better soon. I had that "Flu" and I coughed till my ribs hurt but I am much better now. I think the tropical germs are strong enough to kill and eat simple U.S.A. bugs. ... I wish. I hope you are both on the mend soon. Please hang in you two. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, You make it sound like going to the Veteran's care is fun and easy. What a horror show. Sorry to hear that. Here in the Philippines you can still call your Doctor and he or she might just stop by and do a house call. I know mine does. But as you know I am leaving here soon and going back to the real and scary world in a few weeks. Hope you both get well soon. Larrby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I am betting that the new cable cannot read or understand the max distance and I agree with Lon that it will work. If I could bet I would bet it will work. I understand and I feel for the days of good fun radio but I know it is gone forever. We are all waiting to know how it works. Good luck. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I have it too in the Philippines. One of the expats who hangs out with us brought it back from Atlanta and most of us got it. This is day 5 for me and I am just starting to move around again. Hope you both are on the mend. Get well soon. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Local Lady Dentist was very good and it went well. I have a Temp filling in the tooth and nothing draining. It has been 24 hours and I feel a bit sore but good. Monday I should get the new crown and finish the job. It was not a bit painful she is very good. Very simple compared to what you are going through. I hope I never have to play Scream Twister. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Bob, You are right but the translation sounded a bit like plumbing supplies were being used. But you are correct that is what should happen in two hours from now.by LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, So happy to hear you got the shot or shots. Great looking treat. I would say you really earned that. Glad it went well. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, What great way to put it. Your brain holding back the design or answers to problems to make your pain less. Hmmm So you say it must know the answer in advance. That is wonderful. In the tiny pain department I have to get a root canal done tomorrow morning. It is infected and I have to have some kind of drain put it. I hope it is not plumbing. I hate Dental work ... Gary, I am in the central area and we don't have Jeepney's here just motorcycles with sidecars, and buses. There are some running from City to City but not in town. The jeepney's I have seen use Isuzu salvage engines and running gear from 2 to 10 ton trucks. One problem I noticed is they believe that Thermostats do not work in this heat. Not true but they refuse to use them. So theyby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Glad you did rush into making the change on your shop machine. Cannot wait to see the knife. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Sent it to my Sister and 4 others. They all cracked up. What is funny as an Engineer I saw it as -4 Degrees and had to look for the man on the stool. Then it suddenly snapped in and I could not stop laughing. I just hope the guy was not driving when he got the photo. That has to become a classic. Hope you leg gets better. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Thanks I laughed so hard. I like the way her mind works. That was a great belly laugh. Be warm. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I woke up at 8 am today and it was down to 82F and raining. I can live with it. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Lon, That looks great. He could get it and run it inside then cut to length inside the workshop. I agree any outside connections or even splice could be a problem spot. Larryby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Sounds like I need to make a long distance house call. ha ha. I had something like that on a long run in a TV Station. Was one wire in the Cat5 and we never found the cause. I just ran a new wire and it worked. You can buy a simple tester that tests those cables and it tells you exactly what is wrong. They are not expensive. They are made the land of Mao and seem to work fineby LarryinAsia - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
