Wow, Lot of miles and i bet some interesting places that cars been too. Wonder if it's still around? I have a friend who has a 58 coupe 1600 super in red with a bursch exhaust. They are quite livable in modern traffic, unless some inattentive driver rear ends you. The 6 volt lights are not that bright. Oh..... i could go on but.....by watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Well, in my younger days when things were good, I happened to own a 57 356A in Silver. She was a beauty and i remember cruising down the highway at about 85 with that flat 4 wailing away when suddenly the engine died. I was able to cruise off the highway 2 miles to a safe area. The car had not much rolling resistance. What it did have was a mechanical fuel pump that let me down. A pin had workedby watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I like that one too Kurt... but the one after it with the cactus and moon is the one i would take.by watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Lon, You gave me an idea. I have an old Bulova microscope, pictured. I can lay the camera on top and these are the images of a 2.4mm wheel with, can you believe 320 teeth. Hard to believe that they could cut those and it was from about 50 years ago. Still, i believe a trade secret. From an accutron 218 btw. Not sure how to get closer to see the teeth though?by watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Easy Gary, Make em split and they can be adjusted by the user.by watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hope you don't mind me showing a couple stones i just set. The pendant is a Tourmaline from Thailand that i picked up from a gem dealer years ago. The second is a CZ.... just wanted to check my steadiness before i try on a real one. I've not been very successful in taking pictures of these items and was thinking i should get a microscope with attached camera. Hi Kurt, Yes the spice alum. I use it to remove broken screws in watch plates and also Rolex recommends using for removing a steel staff from a beryllium balance wheel. I have coated some parts with fingernail polish or a wax if i was unsure of the effect on the main piece i was trying to save from the corrosive process. These are tiny parts but maybe some form of the idea will work for you. Oh,by watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Kurt. when i have a broken stem in a watch crown... i use alum to rot the metal out.... of course these pieces are usually under a mm in size and it still takes hours. i wonder if it would work on your piece submerged in a hot alum solution to release the grip. Assuming the metal outside is less corrosive.by watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary... you've been busy i see. I was going to comment on the machine that failed you after 20 years. The nerve... reminds of customers that have a watch that doesn't miss a beat for the same amount of time then stops and come in complaining it hasn't met expectations. People expect soooo much.by watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Wow Kurt, now that's the real deal. Need any help? apprenticeship perhaps? I'm turning to stone at this watch bench. Steveby watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hi Kurt, thanks for commenting. Hurt alittle when it melted but had to try. Was thinking of adding posts to the back and riveting but .... If i can get a torch to heat a thick piece of metal to red hot, i could apply a piece of silver on top. Gonna try and broach out some little torch heads i have and try again. The rifle started as square wire and i chucked in a lathe to make cylindrical in someby watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Yeah.. forgot about reshaping gravers too..haha ... easy to get sucked down a hole. How about reworking the sharpening stones, buffing wheels, screwdrivers, replacing old rancid oil from the oil pot, changing the cleaning fluid ... the list goes on and on ............. love this stuff. I remember the old timers looking at me funny when i told them i wanted to learn. haha they were right on. Alby watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary Busy trying to make a buck and checking in often to see whats new. Lets see... this past week i turned clock repairer. Hand turned 6 bushings out of brass rod and installed while reworking pivots to remove all the grooves dug into from decades of dirt and grit paste building up. Probably ended up netting 20 per hour after all that cause it's not something i do every week so i have to loby watchman - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
