Sweet! That is a nice looking box. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, The dark one would be fine. I hope you sell out of all the buckles quickly. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Very nice. They all would look good on a nice leather belt. The one I got last year works great Are you going to reissue some of your old/early designs? I remember seeing the dies, but not the buckles they produced. If I remember correctly, you made a die with a blacksmith scene with an anvil or something like that. Great to hear, but don't overdo it, you are in recovery mode. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Let me know when you make another #9. I was late to the draw to the one you posted. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, Loveless is a legend and I remember reading about his knives is some magazines back in the 70's and if I remember correctly you could pick up a Loveless blade for a couple hundred dollars back then. Always wished I could own one. Now you have to be careful not to buy a fake. I was looking at blades at Nordic Knives yesterday and they are listing a number of used Loveless blades atby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, It's looking real nice. What is the overall length of the knife? I'm thinking 4.5" to 5". It looks a little bigger then the 2 bolster knife, but not by much. Keith BTW - Hope the weather was a non-event for you.by Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, Thanks for the info, I did not realize they might be all glued together. Here I was thinking all I have to do was remove the screws and bolts. So I get some good lead out of the deal also. That will come in handy for casting. Both piano's are uprights, one is a piano forte and the other a full size Kimble. The prices we have gotten for repairs is anywhere from $4K - $11K eachby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kelly, Those are very nice earnings and knife. Does Gary still have some of the pre ban ivory? Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, I know its hard to find pre ban ivory these days (not to mention expensive), and old piano keys are a good source. Yes they are thin, but look great as inlays and small items. I have two old pianos with ivory keys which cost more to repair then they are worth and I am considering deconstructing them for the wood and the keys. I'm also thinking the cast iron sound boards might make a gby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, The knife arrived and quickly found a new owner, my wife. Actually, it was hers all along, I just dreamed it was mine for a few days. Anyway, she loves it. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kelly, My wife used to carry a small fixed blade Barnes in her purse until I made her put it in the safe since it might be considered a concealed weapon and she did not have a permit. She loves that knife, but it belongs on a belt. However, she will now be carrying a new Barnes folder (folders are not considered weapons in most cases) in her purse along with her other tools (a small leathermby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, That shop looks too clean to work in, you need to clutter it up a little so it looks like a proper shop. How is the gallery/gift shop working out? Are the doing the volume you need/want? Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I sort of agree with Karl, it does sound like a mixed bag, just more items in your favor. The injections might help and I hope they provide the relief you need. I'll keep my fingers crossed and mumble a few words for you. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, What caliber is that rifle going to be? It looks like a .25 - .30. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I want one of those tee shirts. It will be great at a tech conference. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Can I uncross my fingers now????? It's great to hear BPN is now a matter of history. Wish you and Kelly a Happy 2015. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Happy birthday Gary and hope you have many more. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Well, A cigar cutter is a good idea, or a pocket cigar case (to hold three cigars). How about a clasp to hold an employee ID on a laniard or belt clip. You can also try your hand a making pens. A nice ball point pen that uses a high end inn cartridge; with a leather case. keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I get the same thing when I spec out a project for someone, whether its a security service or creating a custom iPhone app. If you are an employee of a company they may pay you $20 per hour. If the company hires someone to do custom work which they can not do themselves, they want to pay $2.00 per hour. And the shock on their faces when you give them a quote and its more then a few $$. I got my hands on an old SAECO Melting Furnace. It's rusty, has some lead still in the bottom and I want to bring it into service. I plugged it in and the lead partially melted, but not near the drain hole, and then it stopped working. Any ideas from the lead casters out there on how to proceed? It's cooling now, and I will take the front plate off to inspect the thermostat and wiring, but I'by Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
A Grandpa, man you're getting old. Congrats, Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kent, The kayaks look nice. I can't wait to see them in person. Maybe at the next festival?? Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
dlalder, Yes, getting one through the ledger is a real good deal. You just have a long wait. I was lucky to get mine. I look at it as part of my retirement account. Some people invest in gold, some in stocks, but I like functional art. I might lose money, but it's a good investment and I can play with it. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
As many of the regulars of the forum know, Gary is always being asked what a used Barnes air gun or knife is worth. Gary should not provide values of used air guns or knives he’s produced. He is qualified to provide information on the item itself, such as when it was made, what it was made from, was it a ledger or off ledger item, what caliber it is, how many were made, and what he sold itby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I guess nobody told you living in Florida is an adventure. We have critters that can kill you, some that will eat you, and storms that can wash or blow away everything. Hope your repairs go well. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Good luck up north and make it back safe. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, That is nice of you to fix what some moron damaged. Too many other artists would have said "to bad, so sad" and left it at that. I really like the idea of the Snoop Rivets. I can't even remember the number of old firearms I've examined over the years that some backyard gunsmith ruined trying to make it "better." Do you have a photo of the knife before it was modified? Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
For some reason I seem to have a lot of knives. Kershaw, Buck, Case, Camilus (my old field knife that hung on my web gear), Benchmade, Ruana, Randall, Barns, and a few others. I have given away as many knives as I own to my kids who seemed to lose them. I like a good knife and always have at least one in my pocket. Even when I travel, I throw one in my suitcase (a lower priced one since theyby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
OK, I think I got it. Lee melting pot last 1 to 2 years, RCBS 4+ years. A cast iron pot last a lifetime. I tried casting once with mixed results. I used a small cast iron pot, but it did not fit the burner well. Reading the posts I now know I have to keep the ladle in the pot, which was not possible with the oversized burner. I just need to find a smaller burner and try again. Keithby Keith - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
