The net's full of cheap used car salesmen. You can type in "Horse Turd" ... and ... over on the right ... six places will come up ... "Discount Horse Turds". "I love my Horse Turds". "Can't get enough Horse Turds". Everything is a con. I did get a note from a desperate widow of a Dictator though ... she needs to move some money out of the country. Hello Neil, Thank you. That's true. That's a hard one for me to deal with too. I believe people assume that I'm off golfing or fishing, if I don't post visible progress each day. The reader to reader interaction never developed here. Nearly no spontaneous posts. Between my posts, you can hear a big echo in here. So; I feel compelled to post something. I really don't care to share all oby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thank you Scott, I appreciate it. Boy - wish I could do more of it. You laid your finger on it .... finding it in the wood. Recognizing what would fill a panel. Seeing how it should flow. That's the spark you're born with. And, you also nailed it ... you can do other things. And I'm sure you do them to a very high degree of proficency. Hello Julio, Ah .... which one do you think is the more important one .... drawing, or carving?by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Julio, That will be the hard cap for the pistol grip. It's shaped now, and will be shown in the next batch of pics. You are correct. The guns are made up of mostly "shadows". It's only the few highlights, on the surface, that attract all of the attention. ;?) Most of the work is never seen. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hi Neil, What are you going to hunt. Man, I wish I had opportunity to do some varmint hunting. The hunts you have described have been great. Garyby barnespneumatic - I'm just sayin'
After 36 years at your craft, you might find that you can do far, far more things than you have the time to do. That's when the clock starts ticking louder and louder for an artist. I'm not under any illusion that I'll be here forever. So; do I carve something that strictly can do without it? Should I engrave something that can stand to remain plain? Should I acid etch this detail? Howby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
BTW .... the Barracuda functions so well because it ALSO has a very long barrel. It's the action that allows this long barrel to be used. IIRC the barrel is 30+ inches in a 39" rifle! GAryby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Neil, Sure thing. We're using a relatively slow moving force (compared to powder or smokeless). We need time to push the ball down the barrel. It takes a blast to get the ball into motion, but once moving, a smaller push can keep it accelerating. If we have the barrel length, we can use that energy. Most of our guns are porting air after the slug/ball has left the muzzle (becauseby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Neil, Thanks for the pics. I'm sure something like that takes over your thoughts pretty completely. Glad it hasn't been a human tragedy. I don't see why you can't shoot though ... .... ..... hahaha. Be careful where ya step! Garyby barnespneumatic - I'm just sayin'
Hi Neil, I have to read your report. I saw it and was called away. Nice big post - I must get back there. And, can you beleive, these last injections have pretty much reversed how well I was feeling. My back has been killing me today. Hopefully it's what's called "steriod flare". I've been lucky before. They do the darned things in series. So; it's not based upon how you feel. Yeah - now THAT's the business. Selling the GEAR it takes to participate in any sport. haha. Although, to be fair, there's a vast difference between taking something out to shoot a few rounds, and proofing something you've made from scratch and are adjusting. Still, I don't know why more people aren't converting box trailers all over the world. I mean, I've shown the way ... hahah.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Joe, Yeah ... you note that every manufacturer on the planet all get the same memos. "There will, henceforth; be NO WAX in spray wax products". "There will, henceforth; be no alcohol in alcohol wipes". There will, henceforth; be no more hot coffee, after two hours". Hi Tom, Yeah - it's a nicer shop than my shop benches are. Bummer. Amazing how rolling semigloss white latex over everything in sight makes it all new and fancy. One of those little four inch rollers and you can "make white" really fast. Garyby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Lon, Actually, no .... the portable bench is something that has been in my way since I built it. It held the back of my pick-up hostage for two years until I put it in the top of the shop. In the War Wagon, I put runners on the walls, and then cut a sheet of nine ply 3/4" plywood into the shape of an "F" that leaves two voids to belly up to, with the guns on the horizontal bars of theby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Julio, You know - that's crossed my mind a few times. And, I have all that stuff too. Those air matteresses are pretty cushy. That's good fun Joe. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the post. The Fall weather is in full swing here. Leaves all over the place already. All the flower beds and hanging baskets are dying. The War Wagon has been a huge help to my trips afield. There's a lot of testing required to proof the guns I make. It requires a lot of things like the chronograph, cameras, tripods, targets, tools, projectiles, sizing press and dies, shooting bench supplies, bags, spray paint, tape, and on and on. The idea to press my box trailer into service, was a fine one. I stuck a toe into the waterby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hey Tom ... You saw the final result (on some thread ... somewhere ... haha). It's all healed and as smooth as a baby's bum. You want to hear a new story? Today, I had more epidural injections. Hello Joe, I just remembered this questions you'd asked. Funny ... I had these epidural injections this morning. When I got home, I laid down for a while. As I woke up, that question was one of the things that came to mind. No, I've never done it. I've thought about it some. The issue is the firing valve and breech loading. It's all possible - but awkward. I just don't think there'sby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hello Julio, Do you recall an ancient story about an old guy that once went buffalo hunting on a cold, cold winter's morning? This guy used a handmade airgun, called .... ah .... a Yukon 2 ....
