Happy late birthday Gary! Wish I was your age so I could get senior discounts! I still got a ways to go haha...all jokes aside hope you had a good one and a good year ahead! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I would bet the majority of the population 100 years ago would have a much greater respect for hand crafted items, nowadays many more ppl seem to like the cookie cutter items....don't get me wrong here a lot of the stuff we produce in this day and age is nice and functional, but that ornate aspect seems to be slowly dissolving.... This is a great place to see the art of craftsmanship. Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice work on the drag, looks like a giant hair come! That plasma Cnc is on point..... I'm going to agree with Lon the creative abilities we have with our machines nowadays is pretty remarkable....let's hope we don't get lost and loose old world craftsmen traditions however... Great job Kurt. Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
This one has some nice lines to it, the bolt handle is a great touch! I especially like the hammer design you don't see many hammers like that in the airgun industry, some higher end pcps have em but it's definitely not standard in the airgun world! Nice sketchs, Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Beautiful work! nicely put together piece/pieces! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice work on the machining Lon! off center holes can be tricky.. those scribes work well, seems like machining will always a learning process lots of problem solving... when your doing precision work... looks good Mattby Matt b - Gary's Galleries
I would expect to see a blade like this in ancient Atlantis if they even used blades hmmmm....it's interesting if you look at ancient stone carvings/statues particularly Egypt and Alexandrea... the master builders of the time would all use a vary sacred form of geometry to achieve such precision in there carvings... I believe it's called the golden ratio which can be connected to every aspect ofby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Now that's some clean stamping!! Nice bracelet the copper and leather go well together! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, This aluminum method watchman speaks of may be worth looking into.... if that doesn't work you may have to mill it out with a carbide end-mill.... this can be tricky/time consuming however.... you'll have to set it up in a vice tram it to dead center and carefully mill it... I would grind the surface of the broken bit flat first to give you minimal deflection then slowly peck your way inby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Fine tool bits ahhh can be troublesome think I have one or two left in my stash, ha... I have trouble with an 1/8 end mill sometimes! I'm sure the ones used to engrave are many times smaller! This picture really does make everything stand out... there is so much detail and time devoted to these engravings... it's almost as if there is a much deeper meaning to this artwork.... I see some spiralsby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Yes, I've been away for a moment tending to the burdens of our culture as we all do.......... just been busy that's all ha...I've got some reading and catching up to do on here... hope everyone has been good as well! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That is some divine art with metals! Congrats Julio it's a vary inspiring piece. Nice work, Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Very nice design and file work! Really turnd out good! One of a kind. Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
This folder really is great looking! Very nice work, as stated the art work on it is a great addition gives a natural touch! Is the piece with the file work brass? Nice work! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Happy birthday Gary! Every time I get get into my fiancés car around this time of year she's got those Christmas tunes cranked to 10! Hope you have a good one! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I'm very hungry now!! You get some good meals! Every time I show someone the file work on the pocket folder the can't belive it was done by hand! Really adds to the pocket folders well... Looking like their gonna be nice! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Pedro, I can't get over the language that it speaks lol! It's very fast! looks to be of nice quality also! You did a good job getting it all honed in...this thing would be great for makeing all sorts of things! Im tellin you, should get a laser attachment for laser engraving if it's possible... That way you can mark your parts. Regardless it's an awesome machine and it works well! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, I can imagine moving all that heavy steel around can be stressfull not much room for error when getting things to fit up properly! There is a steel tubing factory down the road where I live, it's called Michigan seamless tubing/ MST for short. They are always picking up and dropping huge tubes with giant cranes and lifts when they drop one you can here it from a mile away!! The 3d modby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, That's a ton of work..... Ha...Do you guys pre assemble it to make sure all the parts fit like they should? I'm sure it's not easy getting all the dimensions in tolerance with such big work pieces!! You guys do a good job! Nice work! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary, It's good to here you've got some relief... I could imagine having to deal with the pain while trying to get stuff done in the shop or just day to day activitys would be extremely frustrating! Hope the improvements continue to go well. Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
They are a great value for the work and skill... The kit form piece looks like it's been sitting at the bottom of the ocean for the last century! Definitely brought it to life again and then some! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, that's some impressive accuracy considering all the different slug weights! Tight groups! Must be that left hand twist...not sure what happened with the second target however I can almost see three bullet holes lol.. Don't think your barrels will need any air strippers! Thanks for the pics... You make some extremely accurate barrels no doubt! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice work on these boxes great quality on the finish!! Definitely no 5 minit job, really like how the grain looks! It's a good companion for the 97s! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, yes I was thinking an attachment......something along the lines of these here.. I've seen air strippers on high end competition air guns but never on any big bores..from what I've read stripping the air right as the slug leaves the barrel improves accuracy.. Good point with the oil! Building a shrouded barrel would be vary difficult with the shrink fit process... And I'm not sureby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, Nice clean work on the shrouded barrel... Looks to be very nicely fitted together! I honestly prefer a big bore air rifle for hunting deer for the quiet factor! Plus I live below the rifle line in Michigan, so we can only use shotguns muzzle loaders and pre charged big bore air rifles .35 cal and higher. Also some pistol calibers are legal.....iirc.. I've always wondered how well aby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Pedro, Nice work with the printer looks like a lot of work assembling and dialing in! Looking forward to seeing some 3d prints some neat stuff! Was watching some YouTube videos of laser ingravers, looks like they are pretty similar to 3d printers, wonder if you could convert it with a laser head attachment! Looks good tho nice job! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Always liked how copper can achieve many different tones... Lots of carving for that die you've got some steady hands! I'm sure it will get some good use! Kurt, good eye I missed the Barnes signature, it blends well with the dragon! very nice work, Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice work!! The darker tones really make it appear to be jumping out at you! Will it still get the patina copper gets with age or does the dark finish prevent that? Anyways looks good. Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Spyros, Some great camera work you do! I love the slow motion shots some neat stuff! Looked like that pellet still had a lot of volicity after the ricochet.... Nice work! thanks for sharing your videos! Mattby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Shop squash lol, don't blame ya for not wanting to show certain components! Lots of hard work for every part..... Been working on a few projects myself, usually only get a few hours a day after work to machine.. been making progress however. Not enough hours in the day! A fellow I work with asked me today..... what type of farm equipment can you use in a machine shop? So I thought about it fby Matt b - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
