Gary, I had a nerve go rogue, had to be removed. Dr. had to make a Tesla payment so he "straightened"--broke--the toe next door while I was sleeping. An inconvenience but it will pass. I'm looking forward to my medallion, it will occupy a spot on my desk to remind me of you when I'm paying my Dr. bills. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Gary, I was wondering how you were affected. Wish it were nothing but I suspected you were getting a huge water dump and I know you have sloped property. We got the outer bands for two days down here as it rounded Florida. Lonby Bigbore - Gary's Galleries
I've started projects that seemed insurmountable, but in the end most weren't. Easier looking backward though. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Not a simple task. I find that work holding and "locating" for operations is often the most time consuming part of a project. Gary, Is that blade new stock? Have you fired up the hammer yet? I'm using the Lansky system to sharpen my knives with great result. I've added a few stones to take the stones range from 70 IIRC to 1200 and a strop. Knife sharpening has been a big challenge for me most of my life, the Lansky system and YouTube finally helped get me to proficiency. How do you sharpen? Hey, I have a hby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hugh, Nice story. Nice range. Were you at the NC shoot? Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, No metal work. My recent projects have been with the 3D printer. I may have mentioned that I just did a printhead upgrade which was my last metal shop project. I still need to dial in the 3D printer software so my prints have been a little sloppy. I designed a trigger with a straight blade for a Ruger 10/22, printed it and installed it. I've had a little success but the latest veby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, No suggestions. I doubt there is anything left in this world that is simple. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I'm an HP fan but I control all of my devices with the PC software. I'm going to get a laser if I buy a new printer, I never print anymore and when I do my inkjet cartridge is guaranteed to be dry. I'm currently suffering with a Lexmark which has a lot of great scanning functions which are 95% of what I do now in the digital age, but dry ink cartridges. No doubt my mortgage contracby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, These days I'm liking straight back & drop point. I'm not too fond of clip point and just don't care for anything that looks like a tanto style unless it is a sword. I'm checking out a Wharncliffe but the jury is still out at this point -- uh, pun?. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Those were the days, being a kid at the beach. How long is the run from the house to the shop? I should have a Wharncliffe blade update in a week or so. RC is yet another hobby of mine. check these guys out: Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Gary, That looks like it's about as close to perfect as a knife maker could get. I've had a few occasions in life to look at something after dismissing it for years or even decades and its utility suddenly dawns on me; the Wharncliffe blade shape is the most recent. That knife's size, build quality and carved scales really put it over the top. Out of the hundreds of knives I've seen overby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Looking at that knife gives me the urge to slice something open with the tip. Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kurt, Ya caught me. The knife does have an interesting story though. Gary slipped it to me in one of his tomato sandwiches--leftover from when Kelly was visiting the kids out of town--when I was in prison and it saved my bacon during a riot. Glad I finally got that off my chest. That's just between us guys though. Gary, . Lonby Bigbore - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Pedro, Great to see you can relax a little and get back to an enjoyable hobby. The last three years have presented me will some trials too and have sped by as well. Strangely enough I've been finding rimfire scratches my trigger finger lately and dusted off the Ruger 10/22's. It will pass and I'll rotate back into air guns again as I always have.
