There is a bunch of detail to recall each time. I take detailed notes. I have made detailed drawings. There are so many details to find and “replay”. You’d find it amazing to see the work involved in reproducing a piece. It’s enjoyable but each time it’s WORK. OK. The difference between “daydreaming”, thinking, fading, and drifting ... is becoming more difficult. Garby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Peter. Takes too much time. Yeah, I guess there is a certain knack to it. Hope they enjoy them.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Kelly has been to the post office. They told her to wait “at least a month”. Our post office says it’s all in Canada’s hands. The read out says “held in Customs Sept 27th”. “Held in Customs”. Do you think there is a Special Detail of Guards? I’m sorry Peter. It’s frustrating.by barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
While fishing from high Piers, here in Florida; and while fishing from Boats ... Sportsmen occasionally snag a Sea Turtle. Many are quite large and Heavy. There are various organizations set up to help the Turtles. I’ve sold quite a lot of Custom Beach Jewelry at one of them. To handle the Turtles, large woven nets are used. They look much like a hammock chair. Woven into the nets made of Pby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
It’s always great to hear from you Karl. Thank you. Yes, time/aging is not for the faint of heart. I had expected to turn the pages more slowly. Hah. But every now and then a gust of wind will grab a whole handful of pages. I could adapt easier were it not for these gusts that change so much at once. I’ve been fighting the aches and pains for many years now. But that last gust that broughby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hi Peter, Kelly has checked on your Case Status so often she’s memorized the twelve place digit reference. It claims it’s been sitting in Canadian Customs for a month or more. I can see the discussions daily. After the morning slog where someone asked ...”What do you do with it?” ... they resume at 2pm. Today’s discussion ... “why does it appear to be empty?” Wednesday, they aboby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I’m back to finishing up a couple nice folding knives. These mock ups give you an idea. One in a nice Mosaic of Pearls and Ebony. The other is a tough Black Canvas Phenolic. And the Twin (aka no. 2), is completed and now winging its way to its forever home. It’s not at all like these owners couldn’t do without their handmade Barnes Cases ... but their families will have two extremely nice items to enjoy as decades pass. Thank you both, for allowing me to support my current needs. Thank you for appreciating the skill sets I’ve had while here. It’s been enjoyabby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
We have a nice Liberty Case in Oak Motif going out. These are a lot of work. I enjoy them, and it rounds out the interesting things I make. I hope you have enjoyed seeing them, and I really appreciate the Gents who picked up a Liberty Case. This will be a regular stock item in a variety of designs. If you note the little guy pressing Iron in the header, and compare to our pic from Sunday morning ... you’ll see we are now about the same size. Compare to Kelly, and you’ll note I’ve lost about 8” standing. I’m no longer 6’3” tall. Don’t take my cane or I’ll sag another few inches. I’ve been taking pics along the way. Here’s a few more ... Nickel Silver Construction. Integral hinges and catch. Hope you enjoy. The Engraved panel is taped off for protection during other phases. You are seeing the “inside” in this pic. Here you see reflection panel. Safe even during the dome raising die stamping. I’m working on the integral hinges. Phone died during the post. Don’t know why the pics are oddly spaced. I was just glad not to loose all the prep work. Hope you enjoy all the detail in the pics themselves. I’ve finished a great Case. Both Peter and Kurt showed special interest in the pending Oak Leaf and Acorn Cases. Kurt was kind enough to say the #1 Prototype Consideration was not important to him at this point, so he handed the #1 piece to Peter. Thanks Kurt. So this one goes to Peter and it’s identical twin goes to Kurt. I think this makes a great case in the Series. We have the Libby barnespneumatic - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum

Hi Peter, No. My new Cane sits waiting while I make tooling and process Cases. Some may wonder why I appear to get off track with Knives and Cases and Time Machines. It’s the effort to accumulate the tooling and notes and prototypes, in order to seamlessly slip from object to object as my health allows. I WILL be making things until to bell tolls. Hi Kurt, I realized I missed responding to some points. Sounds like you had interesting work with commercial presses. It’s humorous ... I didn’t have an opportunity like that. I genuinely “invented” the transfer of an Engraving on a Tool Steel plate, to a blank sheet of metal. Then made the powerful rolling mill to do it. Finally realizing, as I studied books at 2 am ... Thk you Kurt, That’s kind to an old man. I’m glad somebody with experience can appreciate the work. I can’t help but think it is a bit rare for the one set of hands and one mind to design the process, tooling, machines, and make all of the above.
