Gary, I keep following your progress and the magnitude of your task overall and I shake my head. Awe inspiring Like everyone (and you) I'm looking forward to BPS getting up and running, but there's a bit to be done before that... Best regards to you and Kelly Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Jerry Soon I need to get this pistol onto some pest species! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Personally, I have always lusted after a Grey Fox.....a nice light hunter. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Phew, a happy ending, it wasn't looking too good an outcome until the postscript!by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hmmmm, sounds like a typical Sunday at BPS...by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Gary and Lon, and thanks for answering those questions Danny...I was going to have to ask you about the barrel twist rate anyway as I had forgotten!by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
This parcel arrived from down South (Roxburgh, New Zealand).. In it was a box with a deer-antler handle.... In the box was a..... .44 cal pistol The Green Machine... 5 good shots with 117 grain roundball, or with a quick reversal of the spring/hammer weight, 170 grain hollowpoints at the same POI. Around 610 fps with the HP's, 140 fpe. Some proof targets came with it Danny proby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I second that! That is extreme distance and accuracy Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Great hunt, and at last a Barnes on the battlefield! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Excellent, can't wait to see some pics from the field Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Phew, I felt all that hard heavy work! You will be looking forward to getting back to BPS once more...... Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary Pleased you are getting sorted for more of the shift. Talking of long-backed dogs, our white Boxer Kaspar (AKA Casper the friendly ghost) has some strange and amazing calcification of the spine, which ocasionally renders her crippled and even incontinent. The vet recommended a low dose of doggy anti-inflammatories (called Carprieve over here) and the difference for her on these is dramaby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, great to see you back into it! A fine piece of work, did you model those bulging biceps off your own? Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary I am still shaking my head at the sheer volume of work you have achieved, and your endless energy! I am spending my Christmas break catching up on projects that are long overdue, as well as some that crop up as I go along. They pale into insignificance compared to your undertaking but have left me with with neither the time nor energy for shooting big bores, something I must remedy, althby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Have a great Xmas Gary,Kelly and family! (and the rest of you guys!) We are getting strong winds and mist here on Xmas Eve, but Xmas Day, while starting with drizzle, is supposed to get to 82 degrees F (32 degrees C) so we will await that with anticipation Gary, it has been a year yesterday since our last major quake, so those close-fitting drawers may not be needed after all! All the best Nby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Looks like those drawers will be just the ticket Gary. A while back we went for drawers in our kitchen instead of shelves. Only trouble is that in an earthquake, they all want to slide right out and show off their contents! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gee, I posted a picture of a Christmas tree, did I offend someone?by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary and Kelly Christmas is looking great over there! We are limbering up for it too! Happy Christmas Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Happy Birthday Gary! I rest easy now, knowing you are a year older than me Hope you had good one! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice last wall Gary. I'm thinking I need to get me one for the .60 cal........ Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Huge accomplishment Gary. You are right to feel proud! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Righto, here's some brief info with plenty of testing yet to come... Shoots 475 grain hollowpoint slugs at around 810-820 fps. It has shallow rifling, Danny did it himself, but I can't recall the twist rate. I am tuning for 2 good shots and a follow up off a 3500 psi fill. Kurt, I shoot this beast through my "boom box" (full of baffles) in order to muffle the sound a little for the neighboursby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Danny, I reckon that slug did the goods even without much expansion, by the look of all that tissue damage near the exit! Nice-sized deer, and as Gary says, plenty for the freezer Cheers Neilby neilmcp - The Hunting Camp
Danny, who posts here now and then, came up to Christchurch last weekend (he lives about 6 hours away).and we played with quite a few guns and had a great day's shooting, then he had a chance-hunt on the way home...see his post on the Hunting Camp. It was great to meet him after communicating through this site up until now He gave me his .60 cal on permanent loan, and I am looking forward to somby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Nice work Gary! So the blast wall is zig-zagged for strength and for maximising sound absorbtion? Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Reality TV. Unreal.by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, that has to be every airgunner's dream, a shooting shed on the range! I bet that range is nice and sheltered too, something that I lack... You'll soon be singing: "Home, home on the range, where Gary and his bigbores play..." Keep up the good work! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, are there about ten of you? Have you been cloned multiple times? I just can't get to grips with how much you are achieving, I feel exhausted just watching Well done that man! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Looks like that will be a nice sheltered range for 100 + yard shooting Gary, what more could you ask for than one of those in the back yard! Wood workshop is looking good As to shrinkage, they say that happens when you get older, but I couldn't possibly say Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Sounds like a great time was had by all Gary! You should have told me there was a party on, I would have popped over...... Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
