Ouch, tricky process! Pleased to hear it is working for you! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Crikey! I looked at the wagon wheel window post and now this and wondered whether you were rebuilding the entire house at BPN? Still, it's all steps towards getting to BPS for good... Good work Gary! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Forget the Segway, I want one of those fire-pits!by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Sounds positive Gary, onwards and upwards!! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
One small step for Garyman.....one giant leap for Airgunningkind! I heard a saying like that somewhere....keep up the good work Gary Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Glad to hear you made it safely Gary, and I hope the final chapter goes smoothly and quickly! And I want that VW!!! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I'm here Gary, feeling the pain......the projects that Mother Nature destroys effortlessly... Global warming? I don't think so personally. Extremes of weather maybe. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I look at your workshop benches and I am lost already! You must have a photographic memory. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Cheers Sean, pity the shine doesn't last! That lead ring would have made a good knuckle-duster....by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, special occasions like this: and this: Howver, the second group is a bit of a mystery to me....way back then I labelled it "909s75" and the colour around the holes say it's Barnes Raptors, but the mists of time have obscured what distance I shot it at (is the "75" 75 yards or is it a .75" group???) and I can't find if or when I posted about it, but I like it... Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, I still have some of your Raptors (in tasteful Gold cladding) that Jerry cast up for me...I am saving them for special occasions! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Ahhh, rain, yes, so far we have had our wettest winter for quite some time and still it goes on. I can sympathise with you guys..... Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I cast some SWC .452's from a Lee mold that I picked up recently. This mold drops them at 200 grains in pure lead I was a bit concerned they would be a bit loose in the 909s bore, so I did the swimming pool test and found they were engraving OK I shot a few groups at 100 yards through my 909s, each group off one fill, not tethered The groups average 2.3" ctc. With a bit of tweakby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
That's one proud Grandpop! (careful of their toes though) Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Ahhh, a day at the beach....sounds idyllic, even with swimming trunks full of seaweed....by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Kurt, I have found (and was expecting from what I had read) that the first few slugs are usually rubbish while the mould reaches temperature... Gary, the wee Lyman ladle is cast iron and sits in the lead the whole time except for the pour so it keep hot alright. Us colonials have to do things the old-fashioned way you knowby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks Lon Sorry Gary, I should have answered your question in my first response....I am just using a small cast iron casserole dish over a cheap gas-burner and I use a Lyman ladle. I have an old saucepan for melting down the recycled roof flashing lead and cleaning it up before it goes in the red casting pot. I also have an RCBS lead thermometer so I know what temperature I am casting at. Andby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Oops, meant to say that was at a 100 yards.....I'm working hard on my 1000 yard groups though... Thanks Garyby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
I brought a bit of gear and knocked up this rough and ready casting booth for the garden shed My first two attempts were outside in the cold and the results were not great, but with the booth set up in the shed I cast this lot (except for the big HP which is Danny's work). They are in pure lead... I have some perfecting to do but they seem to work OK....I shot this 3 shot group with the 115by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Gary, nice bit of history there. Interested to know what you would value them at now...?? Regards Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
One step closer to the end game Gary! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
We turn the heat pump off eary April when it starts to struggle, so the water will be very refreshing after the snow is anyone is game..... We leave it filled as a "water feature" over winter Gary. Finally stoppd raining here...we have some new rivers through the property! Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Getting it off your hands and into an Agent's will be a relief Gary! Here's to a quick sale Cheers Neil PS I bet BPN (when you get there) will be lot warmer than where we are right now.... We have had days and days of rain, then this snow yesterday, now back to rain. A huge test for my new retaining wall...... But winter's not all bad, this was from early Juneby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Aaah Gary, I have been continuing to follow your fraught journey from a distance, quite some distance! Your power issues strike a chord (amongst many other chord-strikers as you take a step forward and one or two back, but forge on) as it seems that where I live, any kind of weather condition out of the ordinary seems to produce a power cut. We have just had 1 1/2 times our monthly June rainfallby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Ah, a contented snore.....by neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary Thanks for your good wishes, we are doing OK thanks. Here is the biggest of my projects, a Gabion retaining wall intended to stop the slip below my swimming pool from claiming it.... I had to wheelbarrow 5 cubic meters of rock down to the baskets which meant I handled each rock 2 or 3 times depending on whether it was delivered or I had to go and get it. My arms are now long and my leby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Excellent to hear that you are "home" again Gary! After all that home-remodellling you will be wondering what to do with yourself now I have been missing in action for a while completing a major project or two before winter, but now back to shooting, so I hope I will have something to post soon... Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Thanks for the update Gary. Sure hope the films and tests result in some positive treatment options. You have been putting in some serious hours on the house.......how long till the home inspection, or have you not set that date? I assume it gets inspected and the report is available for potential buyers to study? All the best Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Gary Hope all is good after the injections, and I hope your tidy-up (euphemism for incredibly massive project) at BPN goes smoothly.... Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
Hi Sean Sorry for the delayed reply, been doing some projects at home (minor compared to Gary's!). Recoil is very acceptable. I have just taken delivery of a decent scope for it and will post some shooting results soon I hope. Cheers Neilby neilmcp - Airgun Rendezvous Main Forum
